SymServe was founded as a spin-off from the software division of Great Lakes Behavioral Research Institute by Gary Kammeraad. Gary worked at Great Lakes for nearly seventeen years as the primary developer of the R/Client Managed Care/Billing, R/Fund and R/Client for Children software packages, which are now marketed and supported by SymServe.

SymServe provides client management, outcomes, third party billing and fund raising software and related services to not-for-profit agencies in a variety of areas including:
